Overnight trip, camping on the trail Saturday night. We will drive up and wheel up Mt. Blanca on Saturday, then set up camp, and come back down on Sunday morning.

Trail is difficult and has some pucker factor.

I would like to hike up Mt. Blanca with a few friends and camp out at Lake Como with this club trip, but I'm not sure yet how to approach the hike to the summit, get to Lake Como, etc. As you all are aware, this is definitely not a trail I can drive. Not sure how I can make this hiking/camping thing happen. I studied the hiking forums, but it looks like the best route is to start at the Lake Como trailhead, but not sure how me and my friends can get there, backpack with camping gear, etc. (also trying to talk Clint into hiking this one so he can do the combo thing too...hanging out with the club at L.C. He, like me isn't experienced enough nor has the equipment to handle tring this trail to L.C.

We can bring your stuff up if you want to hike it. We will start out at the trailhead off of the sand dunes entrance road. Let me know Donnagail! We'd be glad to have you all!

Thanks, Tim. I won't be back from Italy until August 2nd, but will be in contact sometime that week before the Blanca trip. We would appreciate a hand with the camping gear. I will have to get with you to figure it all out because we will actually need to start hiking up the trail long before you guys get to the trailhead, like 4:00-4:30am, in order to get to the summit and below timberline before the early afternoon storms roll in. Maybe you can help me coordinate that somehow? We will probably sleep at the base on Friday night (where ever that is) so we can get an early start Saturday morniing.

Look forward to camping out on Blanca with you all!

Tim, please keep me in miind the week of this trip. I leave for Italy tomorrow through August 2nd. I would like to touch base with the group who is going to see if my friends and I can have someone load our camping gear in the Jeeps for you to take up for us on Saturday. We will probably car camp at the bottom Friday night, hike to the summit Saturday morning then back down to the Lake to camp out Saturday night with you guys. (think I've talked Clint into coming along!) I won't have access to a computer in Italy and will only have 2 or 3 days to hook up with you before the trip. Thanks!

I am going to try and make this one. I should have some room in the back of the jeep as well.
